Skvare today announced that Gena Dellett, one of the industry leaders in open-source software and non-profit technology, has taken the helm as company’s Chief Operations Officer. Gena has been serving as Skvare’s Operations Manager, supporting the growth and leading project delivery for more than two years.
Before joining Skvare, Gena led account management for two other web agencies focused in the non-profit sector. Her prior experience at regional non-profits in Southern Colorado in fundraising, with a focus on endowment building, grant writing and grant management gave her valuable experience to better understand the sector’s technology needs. She was a founding board member of the San Luis Valley Local Foods Coalition and served as Board President for a regional non-profit providing crisis intervention, shelter services, and advocacy to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Gena also served as one of ten appointed State Commissioners on the Colorado Health Equity Commission. Her experiences have made her an engaging and adept presenter at regional and national conferences, most recently at Drupal GovCon, Nonprofit Technology Conference, and NEDCamp. Today, Gena leads the TechSoup Connect North Texas non-profit community.
Commenting on this new leadership being put into place, Peter Petrik, Skvare’s Founder and CEO, shared, “Gena’s deep passion for helping non-profits maximize the effectiveness of their technology makes her the ideal person to lead Skvare into the future. She has already contributed greatly to the strategic direction and growth of our organization. Her focus on building and investing in our committed team has made a great impact on the quality of services we have been providing to the many organizations we serve.”
Moving forward, Skvare will continue its long history of leading the way in custom Drupal and CiviCRM development, solving complex technology challenges, and serving as a community leader and educator for non-profits to better understand and execute technology solutions.
Gena shared, “I introduce myself as someone who ‘likes people and happens to work with software.’ Skvare is definitely at an inflection point and what comes next is going to be because of people: namely, our fantastic technical team and our external partnerships. Joining Skvare and working with Peter has allowed me to stretch my wings and live out my purpose. It has been such a privilege to support our team members and clients and I’m thrilled at what’s ahead of us for expanding our reach and relevance, while remaining true to our history and focus. I know we’ll continue to have a lot of fun along the way.”
